🏒❄️ Poetry on Ice by Jesse H Reign ❄️🏒
This book is a hockey romance but more than that it is a story about two people who play this cat and mouse game of who will fold first.
Ant is a beautiful and somewhat sad soul who doesn't think he is allowed to be loved. 🐜🏒❄️
Robbie on the other hand is an impossible sweet man who has so much love to give. 🐕🏒❄️
The grumpy/sunshine trope was created for these two. They are so charmingly chaotic. And it's like they are dancing together, with the push and the pull they create. It is like Poetry. 😉
The way that Jesse works the spice 🌶 into this book is marvellous, you can feel the passion and attraction these two feel for each other. But you also feel when they waver and feel lost. It is balanced and it shows in the way they get together both on the ice and outside in the real world.
The story is quite contained to the 2 MCs and the building of their relationship. We do get some insights into their daily life as hockey players but that is not what is important to the story.♥️
And I for one can enjoy that aspect of getting the build-up and execution without the overall plot taking over. Because in this book Ant and Robbie are the important bits and nothing else really matters.
This a light, fast read with so much fun spice and feels. You can’t help but fall a little bit in love with Ant and Robbie. They made me giggle and swoon and also feel the emotions flowing between them.
Some of my favorite quotes from the book!
Pictures are not mine but the edits are!
